SINGLE-ZONE DUCTLESS OPTIONS

Choose between Cold-Climate (rebate-qualifying) and Regular/Standard efficiency.

Single-zone ductless means one outdoor unit paired to one indoor unit. It’s simple, efficient, and often the best solution for a main floor living space, a master suite, a finished basement, or an addition.

Not all ductless heat pumps are built the same. In Ottawa, the biggest difference is how the system performs when it’s truly cold outside. Cold-climate equipment is designed for low-temperature heating and is typically the right call when ductless is expected to carry most of the heating load.

Regular/standard efficiency systems can still be a great option for cooling-first spaces or mild-season heating — and they’re often more budget-friendly. We’ll help you pick based on your comfort goals, not sales pressure.

Cold Climate vs Regular: What’s the Real Difference?

Cold-climate systems are selected specifically to be rebate-qualifying and to make sense for Ottawa winters. Regular systems are often chosen where cooling is the priority, or where ductless is acting as a supplement rather than the main heat source.

Pick Cold Climate if:

  • You care about rebate eligibility
  • You want ductless to do real winter heating
  • You want stronger low-temp performance

Pick Regular if:

  • You mainly want efficient cooling (and light shoulder-season heating)
  • Budget is the priority and your heating plan is already covered
  • The space is low-risk (e.g., bonus room, occasional-use area)
All of our Cold Climate single-zone options are selected to be rebate-qualifying, subject to the rules of the program and proper system pairing.
