COLD CLIMATE SINGLE-ZONE:
PICK YOUR INDOOR UNIT STYLE

Same cold-weather goal — different look, airflow, and install approach.

Once you choose a cold-climate single-zone system, the next decision is the indoor unit style. This is where comfort becomes personal: some people want a clean wall head, others want a low floor console, and some want the system mostly hidden with a slim duct setup.

We’ll guide placement and expectations up front — because the best equipment in the world can still feel “off” if it’s installed in the wrong spot.

Quick Guide to Wall vs Floor vs Slim Duct

Each style solves a slightly different problem. Here’s the plain-English version of how they compare.

Wall-Mount Head
  • Most common and usually most cost-effective
  • Strong airflow and quick response
  • Visible on the wall (we’ll choose placement carefully)
Floor Console
  • Great where wall space is limited or windows take over the room
  • Comfortable “low throw” heat, nice for bedrooms and living rooms
  • Similar feel to a radiator/baseboard location
Slim Duct (Concealed)
  • Indoor unit is hidden; only a small supply grille is visible
  • Best for “clean look” projects and certain room layouts
  • More planning required (framing, duct run, access) — we’ll confirm feasibility on site
