2MXM18AVJU9

Daikin 18,000 BTU 1.5 Ton
Multi-Zone
Ductless Heat Pump

The 2MXM18AVJU9 is a Daikin regular (standard) multi-zone outdoor heat pump designed to connect to up to two indoor units. It’s the “one outdoor, two zones” option — you can condition two separate areas with their own indoor heads, while sharing a single outdoor unit.

This model is a practical fit when you want to solve comfort in two distinct spaces without running a full ducted system. Common examples: a main floor + one bedroom level, two bedrooms that run hot/cold, a basement + main floor, or a living room + primary bedroom. It can also be a clean solution for homes where outdoor space is tight and you’d rather install one condenser than two.

Two important realities with multi-zone:

1) Total outdoor capacity is shared between zones. If both zones call hard at the same time, the system allocates output — it doesn’t magically become two full single-zone systems.

2) Performance and comfort still come down to design choices: correct indoor sizing, sensible head selection, proper line-set design, and clean commissioning.

Peak Comfort approach: we design around how you actually use the home (doors open/closed, sun load, occupancy), then size and place each indoor unit so it’s comfortable without being oversized.

We confirm sizing and pricing on site – no pressure, no upsells.

Key features of the MXM Multi Zone Heat Pump
  • Key features of Daikin Standard Multi-Zone (2MXM / 3MXM / 4MXM / 5MXM)
  • One outdoor unit, multiple zones: supports up to 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 indoor units depending on the model.
  • Independent zone control: each indoor unit can be controlled separately for room-by-room comfort.
  • Cleaner exterior footprint: fewer outdoor units compared to installing multiple single-zone systems.
  • Flexible indoor unit options: can pair with common indoor styles (wall mounts, floor consoles, ceiling cassettes, slim ducts), depending on the matched system design.
  • Inverter-driven modulation: ramps output to reduce on/off cycling and maintain steadier indoor temperatures.
  • Shared-capacity reality (important): total outdoor capacity is shared across zones when multiple areas call at once — design and sizing matter.
  • Installation limits matter: total piping length, per-room runs, and height differences must be planned correctly for performance and reliability.
  • Peak Comfort install standard: correct design, clean line routing, pressure test + evacuation, and start-up/commissioning with real measurements — no guesswork.
  • No upsell / no scare tactics: we recommend what fits the home and usage, explain tradeoffs plainly, and price it clearly.
