Amana AXV6S
16 SEER2 Central Air Conditioner

A step up in efficiency when you want quieter, steadier comfort - with the right match and install.

The Amana 16 SEER2 family is positioned as a step up for homeowners who want stronger efficiency potential and a more refined overall experience — but only when the system is properly matched and installed. The outdoor unit is still just one part of the equation: airflow, coil match, and commissioning decide how it feels day-to-day.

This tier tends to make the most sense when you’re optimizing the full system (not just swapping the outdoor box). If you’re addressing comfort complaints, noise concerns, or trying to get the most out of a new matched setup, moving up can be worth discussing.

When it’s not worth upgrading: if your ductwork is the main limitation, or the system can’t be matched appropriately without major changes, spending more on the outdoor unit alone often won’t buy you better comfort. We’ll be direct about that.

This is a standardized Amana AC option we install in Ottawa. Final sizing and placement are confirmed on-site to make sure the system performs properly in your specific space. If you’re not sure what size you need, book an estimate and we’ll walk you through the options clearly.

Commissioning Matters (How We Start It Up Properly)

A central AC install isn’t finished when it “turns on.” We commission the system so it runs the way it’s supposed to:

  • Proper evacuation to remove moisture/air from the refrigerant circuit
  • Leak checks and clean workmanship on all connections
  • Charge verification using the correct method for the equipment
  • Airflow checks so the system isn’t noisy or starved
  • Final operational checks so performance is stable
Common Questions About Central AC

Can you size AC without a full “sales pitch”?

  •  Yes. We confirm load basics, airflow limits, coil match, and electrical — then give you clear options. No scare tactics.

Will a bigger AC cool faster?

  •  It can, but faster isn’t always better. Oversized systems often run shorter cycles and can struggle more with humidity control.

Do I need to replace my indoor coil?

  •  Sometimes. The outdoor condenser and indoor coil need to be matched properly. If your existing coil isn’t a good match, we’ll explain your options plainly.

Are rebates available?

  •  Sometimes, but not for AC - it depends on the matched system and the program rules at the time. If a rebate applies, we’ll confirm it. If not, we’ll say so.

Thinking About Your AC?

Tell us what you’re trying to fix (hot rooms, humidity, noisy airflow, old AC replacement). We’ll confirm what your home can support and recommend a setup that makes sense.
